Why choose us
We make surgery more efficient using Patient-Specific Technology.
Planning around the patient
We make surgery more efficient using Patient-Specific Technology. Planning around the patient allows us to:
Decrease surgery time
Implant sizing, bone cuts and implant positioning are planned before surgery, so less time is spent in theatre.
Decrease recovery time
A precise, efficient procedure supports a quicker return to everyday mobility.
Decrease the cost of surgery
Fewer conventional instruments are needed in theatre, which lowers the cost of your surgery.
Operate bilaterally when needed
Both knees can be planned together and, where clinically appropriate, replaced in the same procedure.
What makes us special?
Simple. The use of Patient-Specific Instruments.
A patient-specific template is an instrument designed around the anatomy of an individual patient and the steps defined in a surgical plan. SurgiNovi uses the term PST for its range of patient-specific guides. Depending on the application, a guide may direct a bone cut or a drilling trajectory.
The relationship between anatomy and the planned action is the defining feature. The guide has an intended position on the relevant bone surface and incorporates features associated with the procedure. It gives physical form to selected parts of the preoperative plan.
How the PST method works
From your scan to your surgery, every step is planned around you.

Requirements
- A CT scan of the knee
- Our software takes 3D CAD files of the knee implants as input
Planning
- The total knee replacement (TKR) is performed virtually, including implant sizing, bone cutting and implant positioning
- The software automatically generates a patient-specific template (PST), which is then 3D printed
Manufacturing the PSTs
A femoral and a tibial PST are sterilised and used by the surgeon as a guide and as cutting blocks, allowing accurate, fast surgery.
