Patient information
Everything you need to know about planning your trip to Egypt, from visas to aftercare.
Travel and visas
Visa requirements
Many nationalities, including UK and EU citizens, can travel to Egypt with an e-Visa or visa on arrival. Your coordinator will confirm what you need and help with documentation.
Flights
Direct flights to Cairo take around five hours from London. We recommend routes and timing around your surgery, and advise on when it is safe to fly home.
Accommodation and insurance
Where you’ll stay
Hospital stays are followed by recovery in a partner hotel or recovery suite close to the hospital, arranged as part of your package.
Insurance and payment protection
We recommend travel insurance that covers medical travel, and can advise on options that include complication cover.
Before and after your trip
Preparing for treatment
You’ll receive pre-operative guidance, required scans and tests, and a checklist to prepare for your procedure before you travel.
Aftercare at home
We coordinate a follow-up, physiotherapy and aftercare plan with your local doctor to support your continued recovery once you’re home.
